Female Sexual Arousal Study

This study is examining the possible applications of laser Doppler imaging for the measurement of female sexual arousal. The study involves the completion of an interview and questionnaires about physical, sexual and mental health, followed by blood flow imaging of the genitals while watching several films, including a sexually explicit film. We are currently recruiting sexually healthy women who are between the ages of 18 and 30 years and who identify as heterosexual to participate in this study.

Online Women’s Pain Study

This online study examines characteristics of women who experience pain in the vulvar/genital region and/or the abdominal region as well as those who have previously experienced shingles and still feel pain after the rash has healed. We are looking for any women who have experienced these kinds of pain for at least six months to participate. Finally, we are looking for women who are not experiencing a chronic pain condition.

The survey takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete, and all information is completely anonymous. Participants must be fluent in English and over the age of 18. As a thank you, we will be doing four draws each month for $50 prizes.

Online Relationships Study

This online study examines relationships, social support and health. The study involves the completion of a variety of online questionnaires once every three months for a 2-year period. The questionnaires cover topics such as sexuality, physical and mental health, relationship well-being and social support. You will earn participation points for completing the surveys, which you can then use to enter various prize draws for cash, gift certificates, travel, and iPods. You will also have the option of donating your points to charity! This study is open to all individuals over the age of 18 who are fluent in english. Individuals of all sexual orientations and relationship experiences are encouraged to participate. You need not be currently in a relationship to participate in the study.

Couple interactions

This study examines couple interactions among women with recurrent pain and their partners. The study includes couples in which a female partner experiences pain during sexual intercourse. Couples in which a female partner experiences migraine headaches and couples in which the female partner experiences no form of chronic pain are also invited to participate in this study. Participation involves the completion of questionnaires and the in-lab video-taped interactions (where you and your partner will be asked to participate in various discussions.

Female Sexual Arousal Disorder

This study examines psychosocial and genital blood flow differences between sexually healthy women and women with Female Sexual Arousal Disorder (FSAD). The study involves the completion of an interview, questionnaires pertaining to mental health, sexual functioning and relationship adjustment, as well as the use of a laser doppler imager to measure genital blood flow while watching a sexually explicit film. We are currently recruiting sexually healthy women and women with FSAD who are between the ages of 18 and 30 years and who identify as heterosexual.
